The latest kitchen essential to get a stylish twist is one that rarely gets much airtime: the range hood. Usually clad in stainless steel or some other designed-to-disappear material, this hardworking appliance keeps steam, smoke, and cooking exhaust from sticking around the house. But lately, designers are embracing the hood as a canvas for color or a venue for something more sculptural.
According to AD100designer Beata Heuman, a range hood’s primary function is practical, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be incorporated beautifully into a scheme.
Even Joanna Gaines, of FixerUpper and the Magnolia brand, loves a statement range hood. If you’ve ever watched her and Chip work their magic in a kitchen, you know they always bring extra drama to the space with a one-of-a-kind range hood.
Range hoods are the perfect appliance for adding a pop of color or glam to any kitchen. Getting one that performs well, and looks great, is essential.
